In September, the rice fields turn an amber yellow: this is the sign that the rice is ripe.
After harvesting (threshing) and drying, the paddy rice or rough rice is processed in the rice mill.
With the first step, husking, the outer coating, the husk, is removed.
This produces brown or cargo rice: rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
The second phase is whitening, where the bran and germ—
elements rich in fats—are removed through mechanical abrasion. Separated from the broken grains, the white rice kernels are ready to be packaged and sold.
The raw material (paddy rice) is inspected upon arrival at the mill. The yield testing phase is carried out using a sort of miniature rice mill, which reproduces the steps the rice will undergo during processing. Always acting with a view toward quality control and compliance with purchasing specifications, the moisture of the paddy rice is measured and the percentage of defects in the grains is calculated.
The various stages of processing are carried out with latest-generation systems and technologies, which allow for the preservation of the product’s characteristics and ensure high quality standards at every stage of the process.
The processed product is stored in dedicated steel silos or packaged in various formats, from 1,000/1,200 kg big bags to 10 and 25 kg bags, up to 0.5/1 kg vacuum-sealed or MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) packs to meet the needs of distribution and professional markets.
Technology, experience, and constant monitoring accompany every stage of processing. Discover our range of selected rices and products, intended for both retail sale and professional supplies.
